Introduction
More than Nothing, Soft and Otherwise explores the dichotomous relationships of stream and congestion, ephemeral touch and lasting ache, and decay and rejuvenation - heavily portrayed through textural motifs and soundscapes.
An experimental audiovisual composition, the work takes participants through a guided spatial evolution of sound, expanding and retracting throughout.

An immersive audiovisual installation exploring spatial sound (16 speaker surround sound), experimentation and the relationship between sound, image and physicalspace.
Creative approach
More than Nothing, Soft and Otherwise was developed as an experimental work in which sound was experienced spatially rather than heard from a single, fixed source. Layered audio, electronic composition and visual elements transformed the installation space, inviting audiences to encounter changing textures,movement and atmosphere from different positions.
My role
I contributed to the project’s composition, sound design and spatial audio development. Through an iterative process of experimentation, testing and refinement, I explored how sounds could move through the installation, interact with the visual material and respond to the acoustic qualities of the RMIT Blackbox. The project was developed collaboratively with MESS and RMIT, bringing together different creative and technical perspectives. This process strengthened my understanding of sound as a spatial material and showed how experimentation, installation design and collaboration can shape animmersive audience experience.
